China’s Customs Administration (GACC) announced that it has lifted the ban on poultry meat imports from Brazil as of October 31.
The suspension had been in place since the confirmation of an avian influenza case at a commercial farm in the town of Montenegro, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, on May 16.
China was Brazil’s main destination for poultry meat in 2024, with exports totaling 561,000 tons valued at US$ 1.288 billion —representing 11.5% of total volume and 14.4% of total export value.
